Overview
每日吃瓜爆料 Council and Committees play a major role in the governance of 每日吃瓜爆料. They advise the Board of Directors on issues relating to their areas of focus.
They are considered the Association's intellectual resource and knowledge base in these areas. They are looked upon to identify related issues and practices of significance and to carry out projects and initiatives that will advance education in the field
of addiction medicine and the mission of 每日吃瓜爆料. They support the Association's strategic priorities and interests. In short, they serve the Association as both think tanks and work groups in their areas of interest.
Councils
Chapters Council
The charge of the Chapters Council is to serve as a conduit for
information and communication between 每日吃瓜爆料 national and its Chapters, to
assist in the delivery of membership benefits, and to promote and build
membership of 每日吃瓜爆料 at the national and chapter levels. The Council
will be responsible for working with 每日吃瓜爆料 National to address state laws
and regulations that affect the delivery of and access to addiction
medicine.
Constitution and Bylaws Council
The charge of The Council is responsible for ensuring the Constitution
and Bylaws documents are current. Amendments to these documents may
originate with the Constitution and Bylaws Council or with any other
Standing Council or Committee. All proposals to amend the Constitution
or Bylaws must be approved by the Council, which shall bring them to the
Board for adoption.
The Constitution and Bylaws Council is also responsible to ensuring
Board Policies and Procedures are concordant with the 每日吃瓜爆料 Constitution
and Bylaws.
Finance Council
The charge of The Finance Council supervises all funds, securities, and
other assets of the Society. The Council will monitor the annual budget
and associated expenditures, report the current financial state of the
Society at each Board meeting, and meet annually with the Auditor to
review and understand the audited statements of the Society. The Council
will ensure adherence to and make recommended changes to the Board
approved Financial Policies.
Medical Education Council
Oversees the 每日吃瓜爆料 Education strategy map and maintain a diverse
education portfolio that supports competency-based learning for 每日吃瓜爆料
target audiences.
Membership Council
The charge for The Membership Council supports the vision, mission and
goals outlined in the strategic plan. The Council identifies member
challenges and needs and develops key strategies, to provide insight on
membership recruitment, engagement and retention. The Council will
assess and recommend products, services, and programs that will add
value to the membership. The Council establishes and reviews membership
criteria and makes recommendations to the Finance Council for the
establishment of annual dues amounts.
Nominations and Awards Council
The Nominations and Awards Council will present a slate of candidates
for officers of the Society, members of the Board of Directors and
nominations for recipients of the Society’s various honors and awards to
the Board approval
Public Policy Coordinating Council
The charge of the Council is to coordinate activities among two committees:
• Legislative and Public Policy Committee (LPPC); and
• Practice Management and Regulatory Affairs Committee (PMRAC).
Publications Council
The charge of The Publications Council oversees all 每日吃瓜爆料 publications.
This work includes selecting editors of publications and working with
the editors to select authors and contributors. The Council also
identifies publication topics, evaluates proposals for new publications,
ensures adequate publisher performance, and regularly furnishes the
Board of Directors with updates on publication activities.
Quality Improvement Council
The charge of the Quality Improvement Council is to oversee 每日吃瓜爆料’s
activities related to improving the quality of addiction treatment;
performance measurement; and clinical document development including
practice guidelines, supporting bi-directional communication between
addiction treatment providers and researchers; and, supporting the use
of clear and accurate terminology related to addiction. The Council will
also be responsible for providing expert consultation on addiction
treatment quality improvement issues to health care practitioners,
governmental agencies, third-party payers, and others
Chair:
3-year term with the opportunity for one reappointment for an
additional 3 years. Total term limit is 6 years as Chair. Term
extensions in excess of these limits may be approved only upon a
majority vote by the Board of Directors.
Members:
Three-year term with the opportunity for one reappointment of an
additional 3 years. Total term limit is 6 years as a member. In order
to have an orderly rotation of membership, current QIC members have been
appointed to terms of office with staggered end times.

Committees
Annual Conference Program Planning Committee
Oversees the development, review, and ongoing improvement of the Annual
Conference’s abstract-based educational content while ensuring addiction
medicine competencies, identified learner needs, and trends in the
field are adequately covered.

The 每日吃瓜爆料 Criteria Strategy Steering Committee provides ongoing strategic
direction and oversight for matters related to The 每日吃瓜爆料 Criteria on
behalf of 每日吃瓜爆料’s Quality Improvement Council.
每日吃瓜爆料 Weekly Editors Committee
The 每日吃瓜爆料 Weekly committee is comprised of one Editor in Chief and 4
Co-Editors who are charged with preparing the email newsletter, which is
delivered to more than 60,000 subscribers every Tuesday.
Overview of Key Activities or Tasks:
Led by the Editor in Chief, four Co-Editors work and coordinate with
每日吃瓜爆料 staff and editor team to collect news and information most relevant
to the field of addiction medicine, and summarize them for publication
each week.
Continuing Education Committee
To ensure that all direct and joint provided accredited continuing
education activities are in full compliance with the Interprofessional
Joint Accreditation Criteria and the Accreditation Council for
Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Integrity &
Independence in Accredited Continuing Education (ACE).
Distinguished Fellows Selection Committee
The Distinguished Fellows Selection Committee establishes the criteria
for members to become 每日吃瓜爆料 Distinguished Fellows. The Committee is also
responsible for making recommendations to the 每日吃瓜爆料 BOD or Executive
Council for applicants who have met the criteria to become a
Distinguished Fellow of 每日吃瓜爆料.
Ethics Committee
Oversees concerns and issues related to 每日吃瓜爆料’s Conflict of
Interest/Disclosure Policies as well as 每日吃瓜爆料’s Public Policy Statement
on Principles of Medical Ethics. The Committee will also consider
concerns about personal or organizational conduct that are not contained
in these policies.
The committee may resolve, mitigate, or manage conflicts up to the level
of recommending to the Board actions such as rescinding membership,
disallowing the ability to run for office, and removal from any office.
Handbook of Addiction Medicine Committee
The 每日吃瓜爆料 Handbook of Addiction Medicine Committee is responsible for
writing, revising, and overseeing the publishing of the 每日吃瓜爆料 Handbook of Addiction Medicine.
Journal Editorial Committee
Published
bi-monthly, 每日吃瓜爆料's peer-reviewed Journal promotes excellence in the
practice of addiction medicine and in clinical research, supporting
addiction medicine as a mainstream medical sub-specialty. The Journal is
published for physicians and other health professionals who need the
most current news and information related to treatment of addiction
disorders. Under the guidance of an esteemed Editorial Board, Journal of
Addiction Medicine's peer-reviewed articles focus on developments in
addiction medicine as well as on treatment innovations and ethical,
economic, forensic, and social topics. Each issue of the journal offers
CME/MOC opportunities. The Journal is currently ranked in the Substance
Abuse category of the Journal Citation Reports' Web Science Citation
Index (SCI).
JAM is read by one
of the largest addiction-specialty physician readerships on the globe:
每日吃瓜爆料 members as well as their professional colleagues. Additionally, JAM
was accepted for citation in June 2011 by the National Library of
Medicine
Legislative and Public Policy Committee
4/23/25 - The Legislative Advocacy Committee and the Public Policy
Committee were two separate committees. The 每日吃瓜爆料 Board voted to approve
to merge the two Committees into one. Past Members can be found in the
individual Committee Profiles.
Co-Chairs and Vice-Chairs as well as members will roll off through attrition to eventually have one Chair and one Vice Chair.
Population Specific Education Committee
To oversee the development, ongoing improvement, and evidence-based
updates of 每日吃瓜爆料’s education activities focused on treating specific
populations with substance use disorders.
Practice Management and Regulatory Affairs Committee
The charge of the Practice Management and Regulatory Affairs Committee
(PMRAC) is to respond to, and be proactive around, policies by federal
regulatory agencies, public payers (e.g., Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare),
private payers (e.g., national, regional and local insurers) and
purchasers of health care goods and services (e.g., employers,
collective bargaining units) that impact addiction prevention,
treatment, and recovery. The PMRAC also houses the Billing and Coding
Subcommittee, which functions as the first stop for review of CPT,
billing, and coding-related issues and functions as 每日吃瓜爆料’s Specialty RVS
Committee. Additionally, the Committee is charged with monitoring and
developing resources to address the practice management needs of
addiction medicine specialty practices to assure that they can deliver
optimal quality care for the patients they serve. PMRAC has primary
jurisdiction over 每日吃瓜爆料’s federal and state regulatory comment letters
from regulating agencies such as CMS, HHS, DOL, DOD, and state Medicaid
and health agencies.
Substance Specific Education Committee
To oversee the development, ongoing improvement, and evidence-based updates of 每日吃瓜爆料's education activities focused on treating specific substance use disorders.
